中国の国防費

中国の国防費は07年度に日本を抜いてアジア最大となった。

China's defence expenditure became the largest in Asia,getting ahead of Japan.

それ以来、日本との差は開く一方で、10年度予算案では日本の1.44倍に拡大した。

Since then, the gap between China and Japan has been growing. As of 2010, the Chinese budget is 1.44 times as much as Japanese one .

Since then, the gap between China and Japan has been getting bigger and bigger,  which has resulted in  

中国政府は兵器の研究・開発費を国防費に含めていないため、米国防総省は公表額の２～３倍に達するとみている。

　国防費の総額だけでなく内訳も不透明だから、中国の軍事戦略への疑念が強まる。

従来、中国軍の最大の目標は台湾にあるとみられてきたが、近年の著しい軍拡は台湾を超える戦略的な目標もうかがわせる。

ミャンマーやスリランカとの関係強化で、中国はインド洋での存在感も強めている。

インドやオーストラリアが国防費の大幅な増額に踏み出すなど、中国の軍拡はアジア・太平洋地域の軍拡競争を招きつつある。

中国は国防費を含めて軍事面での透明性を高めていく必要がある。

 China has to increase clearness about military including defence expenditure.

不毛な軍拡競争を避けるため、日本政府も働きかけを強めるべきだ。

In order to avoid a futile arms race, Japanese government should make more effort.
